Hi 👋, I'm am Michèle, a Dutch ceramic artist and mindfulness practitioner. Since childhood, clay and painting are my quiet companions, and for many years training mindfulness & selfcompassion has been my work and daily practice. In my work, these two worlds meet.
With Clayflow Studio I celebrate the imperfect beauty of life. The photographs you see here are taken as they are — in the study at home, the living room, the garden, the Clay studio — because true presence happens in ordinary moments. Each piece is hand-thrown or hand-built and decorated with sgraffito, embracing the natural flow of the clay, small irregularities, and the quiet joy of making.
Work
My work is characterized by flowing lines, colors, and playful folk-art elements. Through sgraffito and layered patterns — from organic swirls and teardrops to joyful creatures like cats, birds and frogs. Imperfections are embraced as part of the living beauty of handmade ceramics — an invitation to find beauty in things as they are.
